Our client is an exciting PR agency based in Kingston, Surrey. They currently have a vacancy for 1 or 2 experienced PR Executives to join their team.

The roles will be to work on some really excellent Automotive clients and events. Ideally you'll have at least 1 year's experience from a PR agency and a strong interest in cars and everything automotive.

As a whole, the Automotive Team carries out the key function of developing and deploying integrated strategic communications plans and events for various clients that:

1) Strengthen and protect client brand & reputation

2) Build a strong presence for clients in key on and off line channels

3) Break boundaries and challenge the norm to create and implement innovative communication campaigns

4) Help to solve key strategic business problems related to product management and business growth

5) Increase share of voice within automotive media

6) Target media outside the automotive sector ie lifestyle, technology as appropriate

The PR Executive role reports directly to the Automotive Team AM and AD, with input from the Group Account Director and Director. The latter are responsible for strategic and creative lead direction on client PR plans; the former lead the accounts on a day-to-day basis, acting as central liaison on all matters.

Key accountabilities

Act as the day-to-day support for AM / Account Director on delivery of all plans for b2c clients
Provide vital support for team processes and admin by producing regular, accurate reports, evaluations and coverage / clippings packs
Support AM and AD on the creation of PR strategy, plans and timelines
Develop an understanding of client businesses, their key messages and objectives set against core projects
Develop familiarity with the programme of work to drive the key projects forward and be accountable for ensuring the day-to-day delivery of tasks and actions; moreover, be proactive in seeking out and proposing potential coverage / partnership opportunities
Develop a thorough familiarity and understanding of the core automotive media titles; develop dialogue with key motoring journalists at these titles to generate regular dialogue and rapport and efficiently manage client input into relevant features and opportunities
Assist in researching and creating market insights, including consumer, media and PR trends and competitor analysis reports
Action all account housekeeping-related matters, including client reports, meeting agendas, minutes and contact reports including circulation, the internal team coordination of briefing documents and related documentation to the delivery of the accounts
Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritise own work with full quality control over written materials

Act as solid and reliable support for senior team members
Conduct daily monitoring for stories of interest relating to all clients and circulate relevant stories internally or to the client team
Draft copy, press releases, blog articles, features and media materials relating to ad hoc campaigns; and assist in the development of creative editorial content
Assist in distribution of press releases, imagery, videos and other story-telling assets to the media
Develop an understanding of PR planning through researching and writing up creative campaign ideas with support from senior team members
Coordinate evaluation reports and liaise with suppliers (Precise, Durrants, Synthesio etc) to deliver accurate and informative reports across all projects
Full budget management across all work, including creation of budget estimate, tracking of POs, collation of receipts and booking confirmation, expenses and reconciliation
Organise and manage workloads for any work experience staff to progress day to day work, flagging any issues and solutions to senior staff members
Develop a working knowledge of the automotive media landscape across UK and Europe and share that knowledge with the wider team
Media event management: supporting the organisation and logistics of media events, stunts and activities
Manage the internal processes to measure and analyse project results and measurement


Provide support through developing administration tools and systems that enable the Automotive team to perform efficiently and effectively
Manage an inventory of branded materials at Performance that is accessible for all team members on the central server
Manage database lists of all market press contacts - including regular contact to ensure these are updated
Ensure a comprehensive client filing system for the Automotive team, updating when required
Manage regular Automotive team meetings, ensuring team attendance, agenda setting with relevant brainstorms, update and circulation of work sheets
Action all account housekeeping related matters, including client reports, meeting agendas, minutes, contact reports and circulation, internal team coordination
Support the Office Assistant across Performance with day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth running of the office: collecting and distributing post, answering phones, welcoming guests, updating the company calendar etc.
